BOOK PARADE
This term we will be having the Annual Book Parade on Wednesday 5 December at 11am in the Hall.
this year the theme is "Fancy Feet". Dress up your feet or shoes to represent a book character. (for example, with his colourful characters, Dr Seuss has given us plenty of feet for thought!)
Students can wear a full costume but it is their feet that will be judged!
LIBRARIANS' PARTY and ROAD PATROL TRIP this combined event is currently being planned. More information soon!
The Library closes to students and classes at 12pm on WEDNESDAY 28 NOVEMBER and all books need to be returned (or replaced/paid for if lost) by this date. The first class to have ALL its books back to the library wins Ice Blocks.

TERM THREE 2018
The latest Book Club catalogue, Issue 6, is out now and closes on Weds 12 September. You can order online using this link:
https://mybookclub.scholastic.co.nz/Parent/Login.aspx
There is a lot of sickness in the community at the moment and the weather has been cold. Remember that the Library is open at lunchtime Monday through to Thursday, so if your child needs to keep warm, remind them that they can take refuge in the library!
As you can see, Clifford and Bing Bong know how to keep warm while practising their reading.

The Book Fair is over and we reached the target of over $3,000 in sales which has earned the School Library a 30% commission (in books).
A huge thankyou to all students and parents who supported the Fair (and all the teachers who encouraged them to attend!)
I couldn't have done it without my student helpers...the seniors from Room 9 who helped with set-up and Mia, Alicia and Afrooza from Room 4 who dressed up as this year's mascot, Clifford the Big Red Dog. The girls worked very hard, I was very impressed. It gets really hot in that suit!
Accolades also to my husband Lindsay (the guy on the sales desk) who gave up his own time to come and help out. (Quick promo here for Marsden Electrical 0274434004 if you need an awesome electrician!)
BOOK FAIR UPDATE
Yesterday we sold over $1500 worth of stock! Today we hope to match this so please come along to ROOM 8 between 3pm and 7pm.. Meet our fabulous Fair mascot, Clifford the Big Red Dog (aka Mia and Alicia from Room 4). Grab a selfie!
