End of Year: 2017

It's hard to believe that we are almost at the end of another year. We still have a few events before we can hang up our book bags and relax by the pool (well, maybe an indoor pool in Wellington...)
Here are the Library events you may need to be aware of:

BOOK CLUB issue 8 closes tomorrow... this is the LAST Book Club order for 2017. Remember you can order and pay online at https://mybookclub.scholastic.co.nz/Parent/Login.aspx

You can order online after tomorrow but if I have closed the online orders  then you will need to have your order sent to your home address and they do charge postage for this. (It is very reasonable).

ICE BLOCK CHALLENGE
The first class (or half-class for Rooms 2, 4, 10  12 and 16) to return ALL library books by 4 December wins Ice blocks.
Please help your lovelies to win this by encouraging them to find and return all books.
LOST books can either be replaced with another copy of the book OR pay $20 per book to the school office
a good place to buy books online, with free postage, is the Book Depository website. Here is the link:

DONATIONS of books are always welcome! Please call or email me if you would like to donate a book.                 2326453 extension 704        amarsden@tawa.school.nz

BOOK CHARACTER PARADE: STORY HATS  will be held at 11am in the Hall on Wednesday 6 DECEMBER. Students and staff will parade their wonderful creations and there will be PRIZES for best and most original creations. this year our judges will be some of our very responsible Intermediate students. Kapi Mana News has been invited to send a journalist.

LIBRARY PARTY: (combined with Road Patrol Trip) Thursday 7 DECEMBER. Lunch Librarians/Resource Room angels go to Tawa Pool then come back for the party. CLASS Librarians join us for the party lunch and DVD.

A huge thank you to those wonderful parents who have helped their children to enjoy and look after their books.  please keep reading to and with them through the holidays.  We are very lucky to have Public Libraries close by,  plus some excellent Op Shops where you can pick up books for as little as 20 cents. (and donate to charity AND recycle ...win win!)

May you all have a safe and blessed holiday season.
